Ah, chocolate, who doesn’t love a little taste of ‘the food of the gods.’ The ancient ceremonies of the Mayans were all about drinking cacao and for good reason.
“Chocolate” is derived from the Mayan word “xocoatl.” Many of us know chocolate as solid bars, but for most of its history – back to 500 B.C. – chocolate has been consumed as a drink. It was revered by Mayan priests and used in ceremonies by royalty and was considered so valuable that the cacao seeds were traded as a form of currency.
The cacao nut is considered a powerful aphrodisiac. In its natural, unprocessed form, the rich, complex flavor of cacao, satisfies all our senses and pleasure centers.
It also contains 15 times more antioxidants than wild blueberries. It is an abundant source of magnesium, iron, protein and many essential trace elements, vitamins and minerals. In addition, cacao contains a compound called phenylethylamine (PEA). PEA compound elevates mood and supports energy. So of course we all love chocolate!
This nutritionally dense spicy, seduction nectar helps with blood flow, heart health, reducing stress, fertility and opening the heart, mind and soul.
As we all know, in order to feel ‘in the mood,’ we need to feel good about ourselves, stimulate our senses and awaken our desires. So drink up!
